Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1317 of 9 August 2021 amended Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006 as regards maximum levels of lead in particular foodstuffs, to reduce the dietary exposure to lead in food within the Union and lower the existing maximum levels and setting additional maximum levels for foods for which lower levels of lead are reasonably achievable, namely offal, certain foods for infants and young children, salt and wild fungi. Furthermore, to help fight fraudulent practices, such as adding lead chromate to turmeric, it established maximum levels for spices.
Changes in Section 3: Metals of the Annex of Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006. It lays down that the Foodstuffs listed in the Annex that was lawfully placed on the market before the entry into force of this Regulation should remain on the market until 28 February 2022.
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1324 of 10 August 2021 amended Regulation (EC) No 1597/2002 as regards the format for the submission of national lists of the primary material of forest reproductive material to adapt this Regulation to the technological developments provided by the Forest Reproductive Material Information System (FOREMATIS), an information system for the electronic submission of those national lists that allows the Member States to publish their national lists on the website of the Commission.
Changes in Article 1 and the Annex of Regulation (EC) No 1597/2002. Article 1 provides that The national list referred to in Article 10(2) of Directive 1999/105/EC shall be submitted by each Member State through and by the format of the Forest Reproductive Material Information System of the Commission.
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1146 of 12 July 2021 amended the Annex to Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/641 concerning emergency measures about outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the certain Member States because the Annex to Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/641 was recently amended by Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1084 and to reflect the outbreaks of HPAI in poultry or captive birds in Germany, Denmark and Poland.
