Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1400 of 24 August 2021 fixing the interest rates to be used for calculating the costs of financing intervention measures comprising buying-in, storage and disposal for the 2022 EAGF accounting year.

 

The Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1400 of 24 August 2021 fixed the interest rates applicable for the 2022 EAGF accounting year, taking various factors into account, such as the deadline, provided in Annex I to Delegated Regulation (EU) No 906/2014, for the Member States to notify the Commission about the interest rate they bore during a reference period or when a Member State has no agricultural products in public storage during that reference period.

 

This Regulation establishes that for the expenditure relating to the financing costs incurred by the Member States in mobilising funds to buy in products chargeable to the 2022 accounting year of the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF), the interest rates provided for in Annex I to Delegated Regulation (EU) No 906/2014 following Article 3(1), point (a), of that Regulation shall be fixed at 0 %.

 

This Regulation shall apply from 1 October 2021.

 

TARIFF QUOTAS

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1401 of 25 August 2021 amending Implementing Regulations (EU) 2020/761 and (EU) 2020/1988 as regards the quantities that may be imported under certain tariff quotas.

 

This Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1401 of 25 August 2021 amended Implementing Regulations (EU) 2020/761 and (EU) 2020/1988, to adapt them to some amendments made by agreements related to the modification of concessions on all the tariff rate quotas included in the EU Schedule CLXXV as a consequence of the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union.

 

Articles 38 and 40 of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/761 are deleted, and Annexes I, II, III, VI and XII are amended.

 

Amendments in Article 7 and Annex I of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1988.

 

This Regulation should enter into force on its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. 

 

The amendments made by this Regulation to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/1988 also apply to tariff quota periods that are ongoing on the day of entry into force of this Regulation. The amendments to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/761 should apply from the first licence application period following the entry into force of this Regulation. However, the amendments to the quantities of the tariff quotas under order numbers 09.4412 and 09.4213, as well as those relating to the creation of tariff quotas under order numbers 09.4288, 09.4289 and 09.4290, should apply as of the beginning of the tariff quota periods starting after the entry into force of this Regulation.

Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1399 of 24 August 2021 amending Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006 as regards maximum levels of ergot sclerotia and ergot alkaloids in certain foodstuffs. 

 

The Commission Regulation (EU) 2021/1399 of 24 August 2021 amended Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006, to adapt it to the changes in Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council and to lower the maximum level for ergot sclerotia and establish maximum levels for ergot alkaloids in some foodstuff (cereals) with significant levels of such alkaloids to eliminate problems as regards their application, since, for specific population groups, exposure estimates to ergot alkaloids indicate an exposure close to the tolerable daily intake and to lower levels of contamination by ergot sclerotia.

 

Changes in Article 9 paragraph 4 and the Annex of the Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006.

 

This Regulation shall apply from 1 January 2022, but the foodstuffs listed in the Annex lawfully placed on the market before 1 January 2022 may remain on the market until their date of minimum durability or use-by-date.
