The Regulation (EU) 2021/947 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 June 2021 establishing the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument – Global Europe aims to adapt the external actions to the new needs of Union partners, as global challenges to human rights, democracy and good governance, security and stability, climate change and the environment, among others, and in consequence to adapt the financial implementation of the programmes for the period of 2021-2027.
Amendments in Article1, paragraph 5, second paragraph of Article 20 and the last three paragraphs of point D of Annexe I of Decision No 466/2014/EU.
While this Regulation shall apply from 1 January 2021, Regulations (EC, Euratom) No, 480/2009 and (EU) 2017/1601 are repealed from 1 August 2021. Decision No 466/2014/EU is repealed with effect from 1 January 2022 because The financial envelope for the Instrument shall finance the provisioning of the budgetary guarantees authorised under Regulation (EU) 2017/1601 and of securities and financial assistance authorised under bare acts whose provisioning is governed by Regulation (EC, Euratom) No 480/2009.
Council Regulation (Euratom), 2021/948 of 27 May 2021 establishing a European Instrument for International Nuclear Safety Cooperation complementing the Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument – Global Europe based on the Treaty establishing the European Atomic Energy Community, repealed the Regulation (Euratom) No 237/2014, to complement those nuclear cooperation measures that are financed under Regulation (EU) 2021/947 and to support the promotion of a high level of nuclear safety, radiation protection, and the application of efficient and effective safeguards of atomic materials in third countries.
This Regulation shall apply from 1 January 2021, but it will not affect the continuation of or the modification of actions initiated according to Regulation (Euratom) No 237/2014, which shall continue to apply to those actions until their closure.
Commission Decision of 12 December 2013 establishing the European Research Council
Commission Decision of 12 May 2021 establishing the European Research Council for Horizon Europe – the Framework Programme for Research and innovation for the period from 12 May 2021 to 31 December 2027, repealed Decision C(2013)8915, to replace the European Research Council established by Commission Decision of 12 December 2013 and to ensure continuity with the actions and activities conducted under Council Decision 2013/743/EU.
